Alla Voskoboynikova and Friends

Peter Tchaikovsky wrote in his letter to Nadezhda von Meck: “How can one express the indefinable sensations one experiences while writing an instrumental composition that has no definite subject? It is a purely lyrical process. It is a musical confession of the soul, which is full to the brim and which, true to its nature, unburdens itself through sounds just as a lyric poet expresses himself through poetry. The difference lies in the fact that music has far richer resources of expression and is a more subtle medium into which to translate the thousand shifting moments in the soul’s moods.” Join us for our musical confessions of the soul while we perform music by Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky among others. The performers are: Alla Voskoboynikova and her colleagues and friends: Arianna String Quartet, Stella Markou, Benedetta Orsi and Jennifer Nitchman. This event is free and open to the public.
