Dance St. Louis kicks off its 57th season by presenting Complexions Contemporary Ballet at the Touhill Performing Arts Center.

Whether it’s LOVE ROCKS (choreography by Dwight Rhoden, music by Lenny Kravitz) or STAR DUST: FROM BACH TO BOWIE, Complexions has been hailed as “game-changing… forging a path for what ballet can be instead of what it historically has been” (The Guardian).

The cutting-edge ballet company, which is based in New York City, was founded in 1994 by Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richmond — “two of the greatest virtuosos to ever emerge from Ailey land [Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater]” (The New York Times).

Complexions Contemporary Ballet has awakened audiences to a new, exciting genre with its singular approach of reinventing dance and contemporary ballet through a groundbreaking mix of methods, styles and cultures.
