Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist, leader and scholar. He challenged individuals to look beyond themselves and to serve the ├óÔé¼┼ôBeloved Community.├óÔé¼┬Ø. . . . In recognition of his legacy, the University of Missouri-St. Louis established the Dr. King scholarship to recognize students who exemplify academic excellence and service to the community. Scholarship applications are due no later than Friday, December 2, 2022.. . . . The recipient will receive $1,000 and will be honored at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Observance on Monday, January 16, 2023.. . . .
