God Loves Caviar By Yannis Smaradgis and Alexandros Film Co. Ltd. (2012)

The Greek pirate who turned businessman, Ioannis Varvakis, made his fortune selling caviar in Russia and all over the world. Varvakis strives all his life for freedom for himself and then for his country.

This film will be accompanied by commentary from Vassiliki Rapti, Ph.D., author and professor of comparative literature and civic media, Emerson College. She has taught Greek cinema at Harvard University where she has also founded the Greek Film Society at Harvard and since then she has presented numerous papers on Greek cinema and has introduced the New England Premiere of the Movie Chevalier by Athena Rachel Tsangari in the frame of the 2016 Belmont World Film Festival and has participated in a panel discussion on reconsidering Z by Costa Gavras at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, in 2017.
