In his presentation, Prof. Zhang will describe the two types of innovation: original and imitative - and how industrial policy is more helpful for imitative innovation because of its less uncertain nature. He will also discuss American efforts to force China to stop subsidizing innovation so the U.S. can maintain technological advantages on the global scale.
