Safe Zone Training - LGBTQ+ History Month Edition

This event is hosted by Health, Counseling, and Disability Access Services. You must register via the link included in the description.

Are you or your group members interested in being a better ally to LGBTQ+ people in your community, on and off-campus? This free Safe Zone training is a great place to start, especially if you’re not sure what all the terms for gender and sexual identities mean or why it’s important to use the right pronouns. This 3-hour training has been very useful for all UMSL faculty and staff, and due to popular demand we’re making it available to students, too, especially student leaders looking to make their groups more welcoming to all. SafeZone represents a safe space to explore and learn without risk of feeling embarrassed because you’re not sure what words to use. Or if you feel pretty good about your ally skills but want to update your knowledge, this is your place, too.

Register here for our Tuesday, October 13th training that runs from 1-4pm.
