Rodney, a 1995 UMSL alum, founded LGBTQ+ History Month in 1994. To this day, the recognition of the month has been an important stepping stone in ensuring the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals.

As a teacher, Rodney has been successful in focusing schools to be more inclusive in the content taught as part of the classroom curriculum. Most importantly, Rodney plays an integral role as an activist for LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion.
