Thomas Jefferson Library (TJL) is UMSL's central academic library on North Campus, a revitalized hub for research, study, and discovery following a $12.1 million renovation completed in late 2025. This modernized facility features a new north entrance connecting directly to the North Quad, an open collaborative main level, expanded café with extended hours, refreshed computer lab, varied study spaces, and integrated access to the historic St. Louis Mercantile Library's special collections and new Wallace H. Smith Gallery of Art. It offers vast resources, books, databases, journals, media, research help, interlibrary loan, personal librarians, and tech-equipped areas, a welcoming, flexible space for students, faculty, and visitors to learn, connect, and succeed.
